A conversation with Solenne Païdassi

I’m still coming down from the summer– Schoenberg, Shostakovich, “The Jury,” everything and everyone who turned up for concerts, rehearsals, readings. I also miss my guys: Solenne, Danbi, Clancy, and Elaine. As consolation, I got to speak with Solenne in a wide ranging conversation last week. She is a dear friend and it was great to hear some of the background that went into forging this wonderful artist.

She also has a terrific new recording of the complete Bach sonatas and Partitas for solo violin.

Bookstores make me happy. Sometimes I’d buy a book, often I’d just browse, open up a volume, read the first paragraph.
