Indro Roy-Chodhury opens the concert with a solo piece for sitar and is then joined on violin by brilliant improvisor and 2018 NCMF Composer-in-Residence Fung Chern Hwei for a duo that will span eras and continents. The artists then sit down for a world premiere by Chern Hwei for sitar and string quartet followed by Beethoven’s monumental string quartet Opus 130 in the master’s original version with the Grosse Fuge.

Founded in 1711 as a mission parish of the Anglican Church in British American during the reign of Queen Anne of Great Britain, St. Paul’s is the oldest continuous Episcopal Parish in Massachusetts and one of the oldest in America. The current building is the fourth, the third on this site at 166 High Street.
