Susan Swan

Susan is a retired educator, having moved to Newburyport seven years ago from Cambridge Massachusetts. Her career has run the gamut in schools and colleges—working with children, adults, literacy, college remedial work, college administration, even teaching for the Peace Corps in Albania the year after she retired. One of her delights in Newburyport has been the opportunity to design and teach her own humanities courses as part of the Lyceum Program in Adult Education. Susan has a long-standing interest in chamber music and singing. Fortunately, she discovered the existence of the Newburyport Chamber Music Festival when she first arrived
and is honored to be a member of the NCMF board. Some of Susan’s other interests are swimming, biking, watercolor painting and exploring the wonders of this seaside community. Newburyport’s welcoming atmosphere and activities have enriched this next phase of her life beyond measure.  [Photo by Allegra Boverman]
