NCMF Winter Baroque this weekend and a baroque world premiere

David YangThe winter holidays – Christmas decorations, holiday parties, takeout Chinese food, and a baroque world premiere in Newburyport.

Never, in 24 years, have we sold out St. Paul’s. Thank you to everyone for bringing us to this point – to our all-volunteer board who have worked tirelessly to get us here, to the small army of people in the community who pitch in to help make each concert possible in all sorts of ways, and to St. Paul’s, our host since the beginning. We wouldn’t be here without you.
I’m delighted for the festival but feel for those who were unable to get tickets beforehand. For those who can’t make it, here is one of my favorite Vivaldi concertos played by the standout Italian baroque orchestra “Il Giardino Armonico.”

I’ll see some of you on Sunday. To all of you: Happy Holidays!

David YangThe best ones are from oil country Pennsylvania where they still fry them in beef tallow.

David YangNo, this does not mean the musicians will be dressed in 18th century costumes.
