Paul Wiancko

Composer Paul Wiancko's recent commissions include works for the Grammy-winning Parker Quartet, cellist Judith Serkin, Methow Valley Music Festival, and Barge Music in Brooklyn. Upcoming highlights include scoring the new prison-drama feature film Heartlock, as well as new works for solo piano and string quartet. Paul's studio productions, which range from orchestral arrangements to gospel funk tunes, can be heard on numerous albums, commercials and films. As a cellist, he has performed extensively throughout the US, Europe, South America, Japan and South Africa. In addition to solo performances with orchestras around the world, Wiancko has collaborated with artists ranging from Yo-Yo Ma and the Guarneri Quartet to Etta James and Joe Cocker. Wiancko has toured regularly with Chick Corea, ECCO, and Musicians from Marlboro, and is a member of the Brooklyn-based electro-acoustic chamber ensemble Bright Wave. He also enjoys woodworking,fly-fishing, and practicing guitar, bass, harmonica, berimbau, shamisen and theremin.
