Good News and Bad News

The good news -- but also bad news -- is that there's only one ticket left to Michael Brown’s upcoming piano recital in Newbury.  While it is satisfying to see the tickets fly out the door I also know how disappointing  this must be for those of you who won’t be able to attend.  Call (978) 701-4914 to be placed on the waiting list.

All the more reason to set aside August 5 – 18 for the summer festival, our flagship event. There are three major concerts this summer, including a very unusual extra concert with a twist, lectures, panel discussions, family concert, puppet shows, Hausmusiks, and a particularly intriguing special world premiere. You’ll have to wait for my next posting for details but we’ve got some great music lined up for 2019. Details on individual events are here:  newburyportchambermusic.org.

We're grateful to M. Steinert & Sons and our hosts, Steve Faria and Deirdre Girard, for helping to make our March concert possible.

Thinking about concerts – not ones I’ve played, but ones I have attended. Here are the top five that jumped out at me, in no particular order.

We’re somewhere around the mid-point of the festival which began with a talk last Monday on Kurtág and ends with our final concert this Sunday.
